Associate Professor of the Industrial University of Santander, attached to the School of Systems Engineering and Informatics, Director of the Center for Supercomputing and Scientific Calculation of the Industrial University of Santander, in Bucaramanga, Colombia, General Coordinator of the Advanced Computing System for Latin America and the Caribbean, SCALAC, as well as leader of the continental collaboration of high performance computing for the Americas (Americas HPC Collaboration) and of the Europe - Latin America collaboration in HPC from SCALAC. He is a researcher and popularizer of advanced computing and the general use of large-scale computing for collaboration and humanitarian interest projects in science, technology and development. He participates as part of the Board of Directors of the Digital Campus in Complex Systems (DC-TWAS UNESCO) and is a Senior member of the ACM and the IEEE / Computer Society. Likewise, he coordinates different scientific dissemination activities at different levels, such as the Supercomputing and Distributed Systems Camping School (SCCAMP, which was co-founder and currently chairs it), the Latin American Conference on High Performance Computing (CARLA, also co-founder ), is an instructor at the Deep Learning Institute of NVIDIA and is also part of different consortia and global collaboration projects in advanced computing and advanced information technologies. He has led formal academic initiatives such as the creation of the doctorate in computer science from the Industrial University of Santander in Colombia (Together with Raul Ramos Pollán), the initiative of the Latin American master's degree in computing and informatics between Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela (Together with Phillipe Navaux (UFRGS) and Luis Alberto Nuñez de Villavicencio Martinez (ULA)) and has also been a consultant in high performance computing for different organizations, companies and centers mainly in Latin America and Europe. He is part of the Council of Scientific Computing of RedCLARA and of the Council of the Colombian Network of Advanced Computing. Doctor in Computer Science (Université NIce-Cote d'Azur, France), Master in Applied Mathematics, Systems and Informatics (University of Grenoble, France), Systems Engineer (Industrial University of Santander, Colombia).
